Md. Habibur Rahman
Md. Habibur Rahman is working as a “Research Fellow” of Bangladesh Institute of Social Research (BISR) Trust. He did his BSc and MSc in ‘Forestry’ from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and another MSc in ‘Climate Change and Development’ from Independent University, Bangladesh. His areas of research interest are climate change impacts, CBA, DRR&M, REDD+, natural resource management, ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation. Habib awarded the ‘Young Researcher Award 2012’ on International Day of Forests 2013 by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) along with a research grant. He also awarded other research grants from USAID through IRG (USA), Winrock International and BISR. He has also research and working experiences with JICA, WaterAid, Save the Children, Concern Worldwide and Mott MacDonald. He has authored and co-authored of 20+ publications in international peer-reviewed journals among Climate, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, International Journal of Biodiversity Science, Ecosystem Services and Management, Journal of Forestry Research, Small-scale Forestry, Journal of Forest Science, Journal of Ecosystems, Asian Journal of Environment and Disaster Management, AACL Bioflux and Journal of Sustainability Science and Management are mentionable. Besides, Habib has two book chapters on women resilience in disaster and green microcredit; writing OP-Ed in newspapers, and presented papers at international conferences home and abroad. In addition, he also acted as a reviewer of several journals on request of editors.
