For the next 3 months I will be working as intern at ICCCAD.
As an economics student, I have always been captivated by the concept of economic development. It was only a matter of time until I arrived at the topic of climate change. Climate change related phenomena often hinder economic growth and human capital accumulation processes and constitute a health and safety hazard. It is in my understanding that Bangladesh is one of the growing economies that suffers the most from these events. While I would like to understand the drivers of climate change, as a student and future professional my concerns are increasingly related to how people and governments adapt to these changes. That is why I was drawn to ICCCAD.
While I have just arrived, and am yet to understand the details of the work developed by ICCCAD and, more specifically, the Gobeshona project, I am very excited to make my contribution. Additionally, I am hoping to learn as much as possible, not only about ICCCAD, but also about the work that is being developed by all the agents that are in contact with the organisation, including local researchers.
